If a cluttered desk equals a cluttered mind, what does an empty desk equal?

You can blame Christine for this post idea.

This is how my desk looked when we first moved into our apartment. Note the neatness. The sparseness. The few post-its and CD’s that make it appear as if one uses the space in a calm, orderly manner…

If a cluttered desk equals a cluttered mind, what does an empty desk equal?

This, on the other hand, is how my desk looked this morning…

If a cluttered desk equals a cluttered mind, what does an empty desk equal?

And I don’t see it changing anytime soon.

  1. My desk is a mess. I don’t think it was ever neat and tidy, and if it was I don’t think I would be able to work properly.
I am jealous of the TP roll though, I have been using napkins and those suckers hurt…maybe a TP roll would be easier on my nose!!

  2. My space is so tiny, I set my laptop on a wooden dining chair and perch on a utility stool to use it. Pathetic, I know.

  3. I particularly resonate with the extension cords. I have so much “spaghetti” under my desk that it’s threatening to rise up and strangle me.

  4. I don’t have an official desk at home. Me and my laptop just sit on my futon.
But if I did I promise you there would be six layers of clutter on it. LOL.

  5. This is hilarious…I relate. The things that end up by the computer, well they reflect life in all it’s diversity.

  6. Neat and tidy and my desk are mutually exclusive.
My desk, btw, is our dining room table, which seats 6 comfortably (we eat in the kitchen). I think the dying houseplant in the midst of the clutter that covers every square inch of the table’s surface is probably indicative of just how cluttered my mind is.

  7. Ha! Great minds think alike. I also use toilet paper for more needs than my delicate woman areas. I also horde paper towels.
