I did the sketches above and below in the mid-to-late 70’s when in high school. Since then I’ve only drawn a few other things. I’ve told myself that one day I’ll draw again. I wonder when that day will be.
My versions of characters from Rockwell’s The Gossips.
Inspired by his A Day in the Life of a Girl. Never finished it.
What about you? Is there something you’re planning on doing “one day”?
These are gorgeous. If you ever come across a children’s writer and do some illustrating I want a copy of the book!
Or just write one yourself. I know you can.
And if you ever decide to sell your work, I’ll buy some to hang on my walls!

If you want to, you will. My mother, now that she’s retired, has begun taking classes in acrylics and watercolors, and spending as much time as she likes creating art. As the mother of four kids, and then the working mother of four kids, she had to put off doing all kinds of things that she liked, but she’s proof that we have more time than we think, and that you never stop learning. Hey, you can always do what my daughter does and carry a sketch pad everywhere you go. A couple of minutes between classes, time between finishing lunch and the bell, 20 minutes before bed, she’s always squeezing some drawing in.

Hmmm…I’d like to learn to play electric guitar and bass.
