The painting above by Elaine de Kooning has come to mind a number of times since I first saw it on Your Daily Art. I don’t know why I’m repeatedly drawn to it. Maybe because things have been so dark in my life lately.
Also, the more I look at it the more I see a reclining figure (from the neck down). Humanity in the seemingly random splash of reds and greens.
P.S. Ikuni turned 18 yesterday, and she now has her own laptop with Internet access. I may never see her again.
