A simple thing

by Liz

You say you are often

shocked

by all
the unkindness
you see in the world.

But to the boy
who held
the lift doors

open

for you

while you fumbled around
for your keys
and hollered over
to your husband
who was picking leaves off
his freshly polished car;

you did not even
have the decency

to thank

him for waiting.

  1. @ carmi – I so agree. They are very wise words indeed. @ girish – Thanks! The basic layout is from Pannasmontata. I tweaked it a bit. Changed the header (the pics are from things around my house—you can click to see where they came from on my about page). It’s the first template that truly feels like “me.” 🙂
